Workshops . Glendale
While at the Glendale Home Depot last week I saw this office building called the “Workshops” on Kentucky a few blocks east of Colorado. The signage stood out and the entry of the space was inviting – so I walked in and took a look.
Even though this is part of a busy commercial corridor (Colorado Boulevard,) the facility is unique in that it combines retail and office space in one cohesive building. This four story building isn’t special, rather its drab and boxy. But inside there’s plenty of retail space with artists studios and office suites on the upper three floors.
This place appears far more inviting the typical single story office park plunked down in parking lot somewhere. Perhaps its the walkability feel, eclectic image, or the variety of business located inside, but it just looks interesting. Its the type of place you’d expect to find in a new urban environment or a transit oriented development site.
Apparently they’ve been around since 1998 as their site claims a Westword “Best of Denver” award from that year. If my downstairs office didn’t suit my current needs perfectly I wouldn’t mind a suite here at all…

I’m looking at office space here, since just moving to Denver and living around the corner from Workshops. The inside of the building isn’t that exciting, however it offers a nice variety of office sizes at fairly reasonable rents for this area. When I toured the building, there seemed to be a nice and diverse mix of small businesses.
Yeah they list the rents on their website. I’m have zero knowledge of commercial real estate but they looked very reasonable if you had a small business or team.
Plus its close to Cherry Creek, and there’s a Wild Oats store across the street.
