I prefer early morning flights. There’s less chance of your plane being delayed as it hasn’t been hopscotching between other airports all day. Also when flying back to Denver I can usually land before 9:30 from almost anywhere in the U.S., thereby having a complete last day at my destination without worry of catching an evening flight, and then going straight to work the next morning after landing. One of the perks of living in the middle of the country I suppose.

I can’t remember ever seeing Denver International this empty in the morning. Granted it is a Saturday, but at 7am its usually bustling with people. Now that its an hour later the boards and gates are lighting up and the walkways are crowded. And a new personal record: I rolled out of bed at 5:45, and was at security by 6:40. I sure like beating the masses.

I also just saw someone use a pay phone. Weird. I thought the only thing pay phones were still used for was phoning in kidnap ransoms.
