Here is a fun airfare hack.

However some suggest searching gateway cities for cheaper prices. I.e. San Francisco for flights to Asia, or Houston or Miami for flights to points south.

Case in point: Denver to Laz Paz Bolivita, clocks in at $1,097. Reasonable price for this time of year for hopping to another continent. However, separating these out finds Miami to La Paz at $654, and transit over to Miami at $284, $159 cheaper.

Of course there are risks associated. If you miss your Miami-Pa Paz flight on TACA because your American flight was delayed, you’ll be responsible for re-scheduling and any fees. And, this method also requires collecting and re-checking bags midpoint. But, it also lets you build a long layover in Miami if you desire too.

Food for thought.

Review from NYMag

And from the author:

Pilot and photographer Alex MacLean has flown his plane over large areas of the United States, documenting the landscape from beautiful agricultural patterns to geometric city grids. In his new book, he directs his lens at the rooftops of New York City, showing the great complexity and life of the roofs of New York’s buildings. Depicting not only the city’s famous water towers, but pools, tennis courts, gardens, sunbathers, art, and restaurants up in the air, MacLean’s powerful images give readers a glimpse of a part of the city that usually remains hidden.

It’s easy to imagine the process of modifying a wine bottle (or five) into an object for more terrifying than a pocket knife, and proves that anything can be weapon, and the onus of defense has been (for 12 years) and will continue to be with the people.

Now, about dismantling the liquid ban..
