These were taken in late 2001, on a weekend trip to Jackson, Wyoming, and hiking in Grand Teton National Park. I like the almost human look to the trees that are weighed down by snow, leaning and pointing at each other.

At the National Elk Refuge, a preservation area for the elk herds, bordering Grand Teton National Park.

We saw these stickers all over town and wondered what they were. I looked it up back home.

From the Jackson Hole News: A “No Squawking” sticker that depicts a magpie with a line through it recently surfaced in Jackson. The sticker reportedly is aimed at environmentalists and was made by a valley resident who has heard enough from the Jackson Hole Conservation Alliance, among other environmental groups.

Perhaps a Wal-Mart would look better than the wide open spaces.
