Looks like Mike Jones is really fishing for publicity.  And writing a book?  About what?  Mike found out he was hooking up with a lying, hypocritical “man of God”. He exposed him for us to see, (without being nefarious enough to blackmail him first). What more to the story could there possibly be?   Ted Haggard didn’t have deep interpersonal conversations with Mike.  Mike didn’t even know who he was until seeing him on TV.

I wish Mike Jones the best and thank him for his actions, but it’s time to move on.  I’d want to be known for more in life than Ted Haggard’s hooker / meth runner.

COLORADO SPRINGS - Mike Jones, the man who says he had an affair with former New Life Church Pastor Ted Haggard, visited the church Sunday morning.

9Wants to Know broke Jones’s story last November. Jones described a more than three-year affair with Haggard which he says included drugs.  Haggard admitted to 9NEWS that he had bought methamphetamine from Jones but that he “threw it away.”

Haggard denied having sex with Jones saying he went to him for a massage. The day after the story broke, Pastor Haggard resigned as president of a 30-million member International Evangelical group and then, one day later, was fired as Chief Pastor of the New Life Church.

On Sunday morning, Jones visited the New Life Church. He told 9NEWS the reception from the members of the church was “overwhelming as far as the numbers of people who approached me. They were all congenial,” said Jones. “None of them expressed anger and many expressed gratitude for what they said was ‘exposing the deception.’”

Jones, who is writing a book about his life including his experiences with Pastor Haggard, felt he needed to visit the New Life Church so that he could write about it.

Jones did not notify the media that he was going because he wanted it to be an “honest experience.”  Jones said he notified the New Life Church that he would like to visit for Sunday’s services. When he arrived, he told 9NEWS, it was clear that the members of the congregation knew he was coming.

“The pastors, ushers and people at the reception made it a point to come out and say hello to me,” said Jones.   Jones says Acting New Life co-Pastor Rob Brindle told him that he “believed Jesus Christ used you to expose Ted Haggard.”   “I don’t know if it was Jesus Christ or not, but something in the universe made it meant to be,” said Jones.
