I wrote about Steve Horner back in January. Steve Horner is on a quest to abolish “ladies night promotions” in local bars and clubs under the trumped up guise of equal rights and discrimination. The amusing part is that he’s a bitter, divorced, sad looking troll who probably couldn’t get any even IF the ladies were trashed off free drinks. Ironically he also apparently hawks books on child rearing and family. Steve was kind enough to comment and label me as a sexually depraved moron, while completely eschewing any logic or discussion of his issues. (p.s. I’m not normally the name caller, but my attempts at logic back in January failed miserably.)
Also back in January Dan made a comment on my blog that he had received a phone call from Steve after posting his contrary views on several blogs, including mine. This mirrored what was written in the Westword this week: Dissenters and those writing to newspapers and blogs about Steve’s moronic stance have been receiving argumentative PHONE CALLS from Steve himself! Here’s Dan’s comment:
When I e-mailed Steve about his one man’s anti-ladies night crucade ended up getting so agitated that he actually ended up calling me at HOME (can you say “psycho”?) and challenged me to a fight! As tempting as it was for me to meet this clown and give him the ass kicking he so very much deserves, I realized that the cons far outweighed the pros.
Now in follow up to this June 28th Westword article the Westword has warned writers not to publish their names, as Steve Horner may track them down for a lengthy agitating phone discussion. Or perhaps a knock on your front door. Ugh. Fiendishly creepy! Here are the July 12th issue comments
Editor’s note: Would that we could. Westword will be seeing Steve Horner in court next month because of one of those filings. In the meantime, letter-writers be warned: Stephen Crout is not the only one to report a dialed-in diatribe. The letter writer who requested that her name be withheld last week did so because she, too, was the recipient of a call from Horner after her letter on a subject unrelated to ladies’ night (not that there is such a thing, as far as Horner is concerned) was published in Westword.
What a fucking idiot. In the public forum of Letters to editors, blogs, Web 2.0, and all similar community exchanges there’s an unspoken etiquette that a comment and opinion can be voiced and propagated without the details of your person being harvested and further exploited. For example in my recent post on Andrew and Joshua I picked apart their highly personal blog to no end, but that’s a PUBLIC internet space. I would NEVER violate their private lives via phone, or further attempt to interact with any stranger beyond the public spaces of print and internet exchange. Steve Horner not only fails at handling the concept of marriage, but is obviously lost on basic people skills as well. But what else do you except from a bitter Kirk Van Houten clone? (Hey I tried to reason with him in my last post, but name calling is the only language that works…)
In the meantime if you’d like to give Steve Horner a ring - surprise, his number is: 303-721-6281

Judge must have granted wifey and kids the house after she explained how much time Steve spent cruising the bars monitoring the alcohol transactions of females.

I just hit on this blog. I too received an abusive phone message from Steve Horner last March in which he called me all kinds of names, ending with “you f…ing bitch” and a hangup. I also exchanged numerous e-mails with him in which I managed to skewer him quite well with wit and invective. Just thought you’d like to know.

Greetings,
I just received an invitation from a prominent university to speak on my pet social issue of ladies’Night during an upcoming seminar and the writer spoke of this website,futuregringo.com.When I clicked on Steve Horner,up popped a message from Steve Crout. For the record, unlike many unsophisticated black people,I don’t call men bitches.Furthermore,Mr. Crout is a gay guy whom I have called a cocksucker(because he is one)in response to one of his many repulsive e-mails(He’s apparently upset with my high degree of morality and patriotism, not to mention the tons of press I get from standing up for my rights in the ladies’night issue). He and his gay buddy have gone so far as to sit in on at least two of my ladies’night court proceedings. He’s apparently obsessed with me and my hot issue(God,I hope nothing else).Lately,on October 2nd’07, after blocking his e-mail from my website,he sent me a letter to my home/office.I didn’t open it;instead I presented it to the Denver police who has told me to return the letter unopened with a warning that if Mr. Crout contacts me just one more time, the police will get involved.I did just that.Mr. crout’s angry response to my fight against ladies’night is just one more reason why that battle is such a good one…it spotlights double standards. While cocksuckers like Mr. Crout have been fighting for their social, constitutional rights, they apparently disagree with the notion that an upstanding, patriotic, white guy like me should also enjoy equal protection under the law as granted by the Constitution. Any questions? Write steve@stevehornerbooks.com. Steve Horner

One more thing to you liberal kooks.I have freely given out my name, address, phone number, and website to bloggers, press, radio and TV interviews.Yet,when I am bashed anonymously on thos mediums, liberal kooks somehow justify it as legitimate with the phony excuse of being afraid of me.But I have no history of violence and those kooks realize that…it’s just that they’re cowards to attach their names to their character assassination hits and that is precisely what’s wrong with the internet. It’s a veil of protection for the idiots, cowards, and bastards. and ,socially dysfunctional losers.

And you’re a writer? Such eloquent prose. What does him being gay (if he even is) have anything to do with the discussion?
You’re a patriot now? Please. You get press for the same reason Britney Spears gets press. You strike the same morbid curiousity as a Burlington Northern careening 80 miles an hour into a muddy ravine.
Uh, just because someone follows local politics and is gay doesn’t make them sexually interested in the subject. The insinuation alone is a relic of 1950s stereotypes, and proves YOU as a relic that has nothing intelligent to say beyond childish name calling. But if I must address that I can say that as a gay man I think Stephen and I would both agree you are last on any gay man’s wish list.
Gay men love you as much as the women you “liberate” love you. Get over yourself Steve “Kirk Van Houten” Horner.

James, you can twist and turn my fight for equality,my high degree of morality, and my patriotism into any shape and form you wish which might fit your depraved agendas, but the facts remain: I still get about ten radio interviews a week giving me an opportunity to speak out about the hypocrisies of feminists and feminist-oriented issues(ladies’night has very little to do with what I’m promoting other than the aspect of personal responsibility) and those interviews help me sell a shit-load of my self-authored and self-published books on effective parenting and anti-feminism agendas and lots of people write me asking me for advice on those issues. So,pal, you can knock me all day long, but,at the end of each day, I’m the winner because I’m doing what’s right and there’s strong evidence that I have enormous support for what I’m doing. And I feel a bit sad that the truth apparently hurts you so much.Maybe you should change your focus away from yourself and your depraved behavior, and become a a bit more socially oriented for the welfare of the community at large.I think it would make you a happier person.

Gee, I noticed Horner doesn’t have squat to say about the fact that women are still paid less than men, more than 40 years after the passage of the Equal Pay Act.
So much for your “fight for equality”. What a loser!

I smell guerilla theatre! Looks like this Horner critter has built himself a schtick that is SO over-the-top as to get easy publicity.
I surmise he’s a con artist and, moreover, a flim-flam man. Looks like there’s some rather unhealthy sociopathy at work, too.

I listened to his “act” with Mike Rosen and sent him an email acusing him of appearing like a tool on the radio. He called my home, my office and to just name one acusation, accused my wife of being an illegal alien because he found her name to be Myrolene. Although it never really matters with a nutcase like Steve, my wife’s family is European and been in Texas for nearly 200 years. He called me names, invited me to a fight and said he might stop by my house. He has an open invitation, but wont get me to push the first button, or pull the first trigger. Be aware of this guy. He is mentally ill.

I find it interesting that he touts how moral he is then uses the kind of language he does. Most “moral” people I know don’t use words like “cocksucker.” I also find it funny and sad that he says he’s all about equality but says stuff like this: “For the record, unlike many unsophisticated black people,I don’t call men bitches.Furthermore,Mr. Crout is a gay guy whom I have called a cocksucker(because he is one)”
Do only “unsophisticated black people” call men “bitches”? Because I hear lots of WHITE teenagers using this same kind of language.
It’s obvious that his wife left because he’s a complete tool and I can only imagine that the reason he is on the crusade that he is has to due with the fact that he has only a 2 inch willy. What a fuckbag.

Steve is a dillhole loser who is out for his 15 minutes of fame. The fact that he is so filled with hate against: women, gays, blacks, jews and basically anyone that isnt a balding white man as he is makes me wonder if he wishes he was not born in this century. Steve, please just go back to the hole in which you came from.

ok about the getting rid of ladies night. ok yeah you may see it as discrimination but its not like the bars and clubs are like I hate men so only women get in free is all it is, is a promotional thing not a stab at men. If you want to be like that you need to go after black history month, seniors dicounts, and the fact that kids get in free to some places. I mean black history month is against white people because white people dont have their own month and with the seniors and kids thats discriminating against different ages. So grow up and quit being so money hungry cause we both know thats all it really is. This is just your way to get rich quick.

I fully realize that prejudice, ignorance, and hate are formidable foes so that’s why I wrote The Unusual Frank White Man…to gently explain my social positions in a way which would help the meanies and idiots understand today’s society. However, the length(700 pages)is apparently much too threatening for that crowd so that’s why my shorter,141 page personal narrative titled,The Boys of Wagon Wheel Stables, should be much more to their liking.Simply hook up with http://www.stevehornerbooks.com and see item #4 listed under the Site Content near the top of the page and good luck. You’ll be much happier as you become smarter. It’s like being liberated.Steve Horner
