Where people of all races, creeds, religions, and sexual preference can live without fear of persecution. Unless you’re a Republican fed by the monies of the religious right and get caught with another man. Then giggle tee hee tee hee finger pointing at you.
I swear between Mark Foley, Ted Haggard, Larry Craig (slist), is there going to be ANYONE left to vote or hold up as your right wing leader in ‘08?
And what would be wrong with Larry Craig flat out stating “Hey I have some gay urges. I shouldn’t have been screwing around in a public restroom. But it’s me, and I’m not ashamed of liking guys. It’s between myself and my wife - deal with it”
Perhaps the only problem with that statement is his history of voting against gay rights. That’s what makes these constant revelations so gleeful to those of us who really don’t care about the personal lives of others - that is until they’re hauled out in front of the media from an escort’s crummy Denver apartment or a Minneapolis airport bathroom.

The thing that kills me is that they call for Craig’s resignation, while applauding David Vitter. At least Larry Craig wasn’t paying for the sex. Vitter even admitted to paying for hookers, and no one from the GOP has called for him to step down. Republicans don’t mind if you solicit sex, just so long as it’s not gay sex…..That’s what you call “Compassionate Conservatism”.

Hi Kristen! Same with the current clan of hypocrite religious leaders. Being caught on a gay hooker’s massage table merits a far more embarrassing ousting than engaging in a bit of nookie with the female church secretary.
And it’s all usually hilarious, except for the underlying message that Republicans and religious fundies continue to propagate: That there’s something inherently wrong with same sex preference. When Ted Haggard and friends deem their gay misadventures as “dark filthy and horrible” that doesn’t do much to help young people who are struggling with the same issue. Or non-issue as it really is.
It’s dark and filthy to live a double life and lie to your family, or be a closet case who votes against gay rights. It’s NOT a mental problem to be gay.
Young people, especially those who are led by the parents who follow these bastards, need to know that and be aware of this.
