If you’re camping out in Orange County for a while its not always easy to shoot up to the westside of Los Angeles or West Hollywood to go out for the night. No matter what your preference the drive is always a factor at about 45 miles, even though at night there’s little traffic.

The gay venue Club Bounce in Laguna Beach is a nice alternative to a long drive and the super gay image of West Hollywood along Santa Monica Blvd. Club Bounce is easy to reach via a dark curvy drive down the canyon on Highway 133 – and again, no traffic at night.

Club Bounce is a two story building along the Pacific Coast Highway. The narrow main floor features a long white bar with comfy booths along the walls. The main room is straight out of the 70s giving it a cozy Vegas lounge feel. Its impeccably maintained and a relaxing place to socialize.

A stairway leads to a large second floor with tables for mingling, sofas, a modest dance floor, and an attached outdoor patio not much larger than an apartment balcony. The staff and bartenders are friendly, and if you strike up enough conversations you may in fact meet someone who doesn’t think they’re the center of the world. (Hey that’s not the club’s fault now.)
