You’re being too harsh. TSA screener has at least as much dignity as being a bouncer at a strip bar.

Oh, I can just imagine career day:

Hey kids, I didn’t always want to be a TSA screener, I really wanted to be a police officer/FBI agent/military officer, but I had too long of a record/am incompetent/never finished school so it didn’t work out. So, I became a TSA screener, I do the same things as a cop, but with a lot less oversight, and concern for such dangerous concepts like ‘probable cause’ and ’4th ammendment’ or ‘search warrants’ :)
