I brought my insulated light jacket but didn't need it until I returned home to Denver late last Tuesday night! My co-worker is in NYC for the marathon this weekend, so hopefully it won't be too bad.

I can't wait to return. I'd like to combine another few days in the city with a fall New England road trip - Billy Joel songs, lighthouses, and chowder tasting in small fishing towns. I did 10 days around the south (Memphis to New Orleans) a few years back and would love the same type of relaxed non-scheduled road trip around the northeast.

Oh and <a href="http://www.futuregringo.com/index.php/2008/10/22/podiatry-chat/" rel="nofollow">my foot is doing much better </a>- thanks to a visit to the podiatrist on Tuesday.

Re "... four fall days in New York City. True to my hopes the weather was absolutely perfect this October weekend."

You're lucky that you weren't there this week. The weather was horrendous -- rain, cold, sleet and (not too far upstate) snow. No fun at all.
