The major problem L.A.X has isn't it's self but rather the city who failed to keep up with the modern world. With so many corporations, industries and jobs the left not only the city but the state as well put L.A.X in a very bad situation and S.F.O has been the golden child of california airports for so many years! Being a united airlines employee I can say for sure L.A.X is in desperate need of catching up with many other world class airports rather than looking like a getto.I've noticed the domestic terminals are recieving some touchups but only some. Most of the attention will be international rather than domestic for the near future but I'm hoping that the green line will go into l.A.X as with an underground aerotrain that will connect all terminals instead of the lax shuttle "A" bus. Both of these ideas would not only eliviate traffic but benifit the enviroment as well.

If you get rid of the hangers on the west side of LAX where are you going to repairs? At the gate? Oh right...the architects probably thinks that airplanes don't break down. F*&king idiots.

Thanks for the answer on that - I'm guessing when completed this will be the second airport, (after Denver,) where aircraft taxi under airport structure.

Looking forward to reading the analysis and thoughts on your site. The negativity in my post aside, any improvement for the TBIT is a good step (I hope.)

cheers!

I was able to attend a reception for the new terminal last week, and I can confirm that they expect aircraft to be able to taxi underneath the bridge. They say the A380 will have 10 ft of clearance, but I'm not sure if that is when it's fully standing or when it's tipped on its nose (if necessary).

One thing to note - the midfield concourse (what the bridge connects to) is for the second phase of the project. The first phase is just the new concourse to replace the existing one at Bradley, and that's what will be done by 2013.
