Hawaii Time Warp Hotels
I was mindlessly surfing the ‘net and clicked this link from Kayak, curious what package deals were being offered to Hawaii. I don’t remember the price, the these two hideous looking hotels stood out like a sore thumb.
If these are the best photos they can find I hate to think what the rest of the place looks like. Both pages remind me of something you’d win on Price is Right Showcase Showdown circa 1984.
The first is the Ocean Resort Hotel of Waikiki, which might look great if they ditched the floral print bedspreads. The second is the Castle Maile Sky Court Hotel, whose top feature per below is a T.G.I. Fridays in the adjacent mall…
Thus ends today’s criticisms of hotels I’ve never stayed at.
First of all, the dated look in Hawaii is trendy in itself and part of the charm! I love cheesy old hotels and quite honestly they are what allow a lot of people to afford vacations here. Who stays in their room anyway! My inlaws are staying at ocean resorts now and it is quite comfortable. I would stay there. I dont’ know about the Maile but I can assume it is the same…
